Why work for us?
We are transforming how we market the Motorpoint Arena and are looking for progressive, creative marketing professionals to join us on the journey - might that be you?
We are a vibrant, 10,000 live entertainment venue in the heart of Nottingham hosting world-class shows across music, comedy, family, arts, and sports. From Kylie, to Peter Kay, to Disney, to Panthers ice hockey and Forest Netball - no two days are the same.
Our sister venue is the National Ice Centre, where our community comes together for ice sports across figure, synchro and speed skating, plus ice hockey. We welcome over one million people a year from all walks of life - our marketing team is responsible for engaging with our visitors from the start to the end of their experience with our venues, encouraging them to visit again, and finding new audiences to enjoy our shows.
Job description
We are looking for a commercially-minded Marketing Manager to transform how we promote our commercial activity across the Motorpoint Arena and National Ice Centre
You will report to the Head of Marketing and Communications and be responsible for working in partnership with our Arena Sales and Hospitality team on our proposition for premium experiences across our suites, Spotlight restaurant, The Green Room, and Bar 1946.
You will be responsible for creating and executing a marketing plan that will deliver demonstrable incremental sales across our hospitality spaces, including via an upgrade strategy utilising the Motorpoint Arena app and website, and you will engage both consumer and business audiences.
You will be strategic in your thinking but also have an eye for detail such that, for example, the branding, visual identity and promotion of all hospitality assets are clear and consistent.
In addition to premium experiences, you will lead our day-to-day marketing activity across our Food & Beverage (F&B) and Meetings & Events (M&E) functions to apply marketing disciplines to drive revenues.
With your commercial marketing focus, you will also work closely with our suite of partners and sponsors, such as our venue title sponsor Motorpoint, to enhance the value of our partnerships through mutually beneficial marketing activity.
You will also be the guardian of our owned marketing assets, such as digital screens, poster sites, venue scoreboards and perimeter advertising, and other in-venue media spots. You will collate demand for over 100 sites from our commercial, marketing, and operational teams to optimise messaging across our owned inventory, and then work closely with our Graphic Designer on content creation, for example, using purchase psychology to inform F&B menu design.
In addition to managing our marketing assets and creating content, you will also be comfortable in posting content across our channels, such as social media and website.
With support from our Marketing Co-ordinator, you will work with the Ice Sports team to provide marketing planning, campaigns, and content to drive visitors to the National Ice Centre.
What are we looking for?
Like all good marketeers, you will have a curious mind, continually assess market and competitive trends, and be focussed on improving the end-to-end customer experience. You will be strategic in championing the need for marketing strategy and planning, yet have a focus on exceptional operational delivery.
Most of importantly in this role, you will understand how marketing contributes to a business by helping drive incremental commercial returns. Ideally, you will be able to demonstrate a commercial focus in your career experiences, in both B2C and B2B. It would be advantageous if that was in live entertainment or sports, but not essential.
We're a nimble, streamlined team who thrive on working under pressure in a live events environment, so you will be a team player who is at ease working collaboratively with colleagues in the Marketing and Communications team, and across all other functions of the business.
