You will work with many of the biggest promoters, agencies, artists, entertainers and events that there are. On one hand you will help to sell millions of Arena tickets and give people memories that will last a lifetime. On the other, you will introduce youngsters to a sport that they may play for 50 years and may even go on to perform in an Olympics or World Championships.

The Role

Reporting to the CEO, the Finance Director will be responsible for the successful financial operations of the business through the development and implementation of our business plan.

 

The Finance Director will partner with our Leadership Team to optimise financial performance and support data-driven decision making across the organisation.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • To develop annual and medium-term financial plans and budgets in conjunction with the CEO and the Senior Leadership Team for approval by the Board

 

  • To ensure that timely, accurate and relevant financial management reports are provided to the Senior Leadership Team and the Board to allow effective management and direction of the Company

 

  • To lead on the development of the Company’s Business Plan on an annual basis to achieve our corporate objectives

 

  • To provide leadership and motivation of staff in relation to the financial strategy of the business including appropriate support and direction of departmental managers in budget planning, monitoring, key performance indicators, pricing policy, revenue generation and cost saving opportunities

 

  • To be responsible for the preparation of statutory accounts, reports and returns for government departments as required including VAT, Income Tax and Corporate Tax

 

  • To ensure compliance with the legal, statutory and other relevant provisions such as internal audit and external audit requirements

 

  • To manage finance relationships with external partners including Nottingham City Council, Sports England and the national governing bodies of sport

 

  • To manage the Capital Programme of the business in liaison with the Senior Leadership Team

 

Experience, Knowledge & Skills

The ideal candidate will have had previous experience within a similar role and an ACA, ACCA or CIMA (or equivalent qualification).

 

They will have experience of managing a team, with the proven ability to manage, motivate and delegate.

 

They will be able to work alongside staff on the ground to understand the practical and operational challenges to developing improved financial results.

 

With excellent communication skills, both written and oral they will have the proven ability to present to both internal and external clients. 

 

Advanced IT skills particularly in the use of accounting systems and spreadsheets are essential along with the ability to work accurately to agreed deadlines.

 

Due to the nature of our business the Finance Director should have the ability to travel to offsite locations often with overnight stays.
