Do you love the world of live events?  Are you ready for a role where no two days are the same!

The Motorpoint Arena Nottingham is the biggest entertainment venue in the East Midlands. Showcasing the biggest names in music, comedy, and sport and with a seating capacity of up to 10,000, we are one of the most versatile entertainment venues in the UK.

The National Ice Centre (NIC) sits within the same complex. Made famous by Olympic legends and Dancing on Ice stars, Torvill & Dean, the National Ice Centre is Nottingham’s hub for all things ice skating and ice hockey.   We are the home of the Nottingham Panthers Ice Hockey team and host around 30 games a year.

2025 is a bumper year for our venue with us welcoming Peter Kay, Kylie, Strictly Come Dancing, Craig David, Mo Gilligan, Olly Murs, Diana Ross and the 50th Anniversary Tour of Torvill & Dean to name a few.

The casual Event Engineers will play a crucial part in ensuring the success of our events. Based primarily at the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham there may be opportunities to support at other venues.

Our Event IT Engineers will be responsible for providing comprehensive IT support to various teams across the business to ensure the seamless operation of technical systems, including core business infrastructure, the Box Office ticketing systems, EPOS systems, Wi-Fi, scanning systems and digital signage.

In addition, the Event IT Engineers will be responsible for:

  • Providing on-site IT support during events to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Maintaining accurate records of IT related tasks, issues and solutions for future reference.
  • Being prepared to respond to any IT related emergencies that may arise during events.
  • Collaborating with external vendors and technical teams (hired by event promoters) to ensure their technical requirements are met.
  • Collaborating with other departments to assess and address technology needs, ensuring that IT systems align with business objectives.
  • Assisting with the day-to-day support of workload with the IT team, ensuring that helpdesk tickets and projects are completed to a high standard within defined SLAs.

The ideal candidate will have had previous experience in a similar role. They will be able to demonstrate a proactive approach to problem solving.

This is the ideal opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and would be an excellent opportunity for experienced IT Engineers to get hands-on experience and exposure to IT in the live music, entertainment and hospitality industry.

Due to the nature of our business flexibility will be essential as this role will involve working evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

If the prospect of being part of our fantastic team working in the diverse, frenetic, exciting world of entertainment and sport motivates you to go above and beyond, then please submit your application by completing the form below.
