National Merchandise, a division of the Nottingham Ice Centre Limited, work in some of the UK’s biggest venues, the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham, The O2 London, AO Manchester, OVO Hydro Glasgow, M&S Bank Liverpool, 3 Arena Dublin and SSE Arena Belfast to name a few.

 

From January 23rd, 2025, we will be welcoming National Merchandise (Sweden) AB to the family, working in the Strawberry Arena (previously the Friends Arena), Tele2 Arena, Hovet Arena, Avicii Arena and the Annexet.

 

In addition to the work we do in venues we also work with some of the biggest non-venue and festival organisers in the world bringing merchandise to music and entertainment fans at events that include Download, BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Isle of Wight, British Summer Time, Glastonbury, Camp Bestival, Electric Picnic, Leeds & Reading festivals and many more.

 

We are looking for a Commercial Assistant to join our head office team.

 

Reporting to the Commercial Manager and supporting the National Merchandise (NM) management team the Commercial Assistant will be responsible for planning, purchasing for and closing NM non-venue and festivals and compiling financial reports for both venue and non-venue operations as necessary.

 

Key responsibilities of the Commercial Assistant are:

· Working with the Commercial Manager to create and update purchasing plans and event P&Ls for all non-venue events and festivals

 

· Compiling comparison reports for venues on a quarterly basis to distribute to the venue contacts

 

· Work with the Commercial Manager and NM Management Accountant to compile closing non-venue and e-commerce settlements

 

· To create debrief presentations detailing sell through rates and operational highlights and changes

 

· To work with suppliers compiling quotations to achieve the best cost prices available

 

· To work with clients and suppliers to create and deliver venue branded products

 

· Assisting with daily reporting including daily takings, yearly comparisons and sell through

 

· To work with the Merchandise teams to ensure all expenses are tracked and reported for the correct events

 

· Supporting the Commercial Director and Commercial Manager with forecasting for new events and contract opportunities

 

· Work with the Merchandise teams on uniform and equipment orders and stand designs, ensuring all costs are in line with budgets

 

The Commercial Assistant will be a key point of contact so travel to various sites across the UK, Ireland and Sweden may be required.

 

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working with suppliers and clients to deliver product ranges and working with clients to deliver contract requirements. Creating forecasts, purchasing plans and sales presentations

 

With excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills, they will know how to create and maintain budgets and have previously used stock systems and e-commerce “back offices”.

 

They will be an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing, they will also have great time management skills and the ability to work to deadlines.

 

A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.

 

Due to the responsibilities within this role, the successful applicant needs to have the flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays, often working in excess of their contracted hours.
