Data Protection Officer

We are looking for an experienced Data Protection Officer to drive the strategic and operational management of data protection within our organisation.

Reporting to the Head of IT the Data Protection Officer will oversee all aspects of data protection and lead efforts to embed strong practices and safeguard data across the business.

They will develop, implement and manage our data protection policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure that they comply with relevant regulations.  They will monitor and assess our data processing activities to identify potential compliance risks and provide guidance on mitigation strategies. 

The Data Protection Officer will be pivotal in carrying out training and awareness programmes to educate our staff around Data Protection best practice and regulations.

In addition, they will conduct regular reviews, audits and assessments to ensure compliance with data protection regulations, identifying areas for improvement and recommending corrective actions.

With previous experience in a similar role with relevant qualifications (CIPP/E, CIPM or CIPT), the ideal candidate will have a strong background in data protection, excellent attention to detail and the ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, effectively across the business.  They will be a proactive and adaptable professional who can ensure our adherence to data protection laws and regulations.
