Full Stack Web Developer

We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Developer to join our IT team.  This position will initially be on a 12 month fixed term contract working 40 hours per week.  At the present time the role will be home-based but will move to office based in the coming weeks.

Reporting to the IT Manager you will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining our state-of-the-art Ice Sports System which will allow the business to future proof it's Ice Sports offering.

JOB PURPOSE

 

The Ice Sports System will introduce many new features enabling customers to have more flexibility around their booking and the ability to track the progress of any lessons.  We aspire to enhance the customer journey to help us achieve our company vision and values of enriching lives.

In addition, the Full Stack Web Developer will carry out some of the day to day web and digital developments including troubleshooting and fixing any issues related to our online presence across all areas of our business.

 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

A broad web skill set with a demonstratable portfolio of work

 

Experience of working with dynamic web applications through the full software development cycle

 

Experience of version control systems (GitHub or similar)

 

Experience and an appreciation of developing with security at the forefront including app security testing and the formulation of security strategies with documentation of solutions

 

A strong knowledge of HTML and CSS

 

A working knowledge of IIS, PHP, MYSQL, JavaScript/jQuery, React JS, REST API and Mongo DB

 

An understanding of hosting, domain name/SSL, website support, SEO and Analytics/Tag Manager

 

Experience of UI or UX design, eCommerce web development, automated build & test platforms and webdesign

 

You will understand and have a passion for ensuring code is well documented

 

With proven problem solving skills, you will be self motivated with a passion to continually improve and develop. You will have excellent attention to detail and the ability to explain technical project elements to non-technical staff. You will have the ability to work independently, managing your own time effectively.

 

You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to build successful relationships with a wide range of internal and external customers
