Staffing Assistant

Part Time (20 hours per week, flexible)

 

Who Are We

We are the Motorpoint Arena & National Ice Centre, Nottingham. The largest entertainment venue in the East Midlands with a crowd capacity of 10,000. Showcasing the biggest names in music, comedy, entertainment and sport, we host over 100 events and welcome 800,000+ visitors through our doors each year. Home to the Nottingham Panthers Ice Hockey Team, where they play 30+ home league & cups games each season.

Our Staffing Assistant will be working with the HR & Food & Beverage teams to ensure that staffing requests are filled based on shift & budgetary requirements to help the venue deliver successful events for up to 10,000 customers at a time.

 

What You Will Be Doing

  • Working with the HR team to ensure that right to work checks are carried out properly
  • Working with the HR team to ensure that any company training is completed within the time frames laid out; giving support to staff when needed
  • Support the food & beverage team to ensure that any on the job training is carried out correctly
  • Ensuring that staff training records are kept up to date
  • Ensure that staff are made aware of any changes to company policies or risk assessments
  • Ensure that all staff receive company newsletters & updates
  • To comply with Company & statutory regulations relating to safe systems of work, health & safety, hygiene, cleanliness, fire & COSHH and to ensure that any hazards, issues, near misses & accidents are reported to your line manager at the earliest opportunity
  • Being polite & courteous
  • To work using own initiative when needed
  • To support the management team during Arena events
  • Being able to answer employee queries and forward them to the relevant person as needed
  • Assist in the recruitment of new staff
  • Have good time keeping skills
  • The ability to manage a workload to ensure that all deadlines are met
  • To actively participate in any team meetings & training as required by sharing your knowledge & experience with other team members
  • To support the merchandise team when required with additional staff
  • To support the off-site catering & merchandise teams when required on events
  • To comply with any reasonable requests made by your Line Manager
