National Merchandise manage merchandise concessions for both one-off and multi-date events and merchandise sales at live indoor and outdoor events around the UK and Ireland.
We work in some of the biggest arenas in the UK and Ireland, including The O2 Arena, Glasgow OVO Hydro Arena, The Motorpoint Arena Nottingham, Liverpool's M&S Bank Arena, Dublin's 3 Arena, Avicii Arena Stockholm and Co-op Live in Manchester.
In addition to the work we do in venues we also work with some of the biggest festival organisers in the world bringing merchandise to music and entertainment fans at events that include Download, BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Isle of Wight, British Summer Time, Glastonbury, Camp Bestival, Electric Picnic, Leeds & Reading festivals and many more.
We are looking for an Assistant Retail & Merchandise Manager to assist the Retail Manager in the development and management of the Merch Store at The O2, and through the motivation and effective use of staff deliver a world-class quality service to customers and achieve required revenue targets.
To assist in being a strategic contact between AEG and National Merchandise, when the Retail Manager is not available. Run events where necessary at all London venues, as the Area Manager requires and assist with stock purchasing, staffing, operations, activations & artist pop-ups and takeovers within the unit
Key Duties Include:
- Assist on all aspects of staffing, stock control, stocktaking, deliveries and reordering of products in the UK’s first artist merchandise store.
- To manage events for the London & Midlands division of National Merchandise- at The O2 Arena, OVO Arena Wembley, Alexandra Palace, The London Palladium, Motorpoint Arena Nottingham and wherever else required.
- All reporting of weekly and monthly sales figures, forecasts and other reporting as required by the NM senior management team and AEG/The O2.
- To support in the recruitment, management and deployment of all staff to ensure the highest levels of customer care and service delivery are achieved.
- To ensure the regular preparation of team rotas/timesheets, to ensure adequate staffing, ensuring all holidays and sickness is recorded and cover available if required. Work alongside the Retail Manager & Merchandise Manager to allow full visibility across staffing.
The ideal applicant will have previous experience of staff management, supervision, training and retail management.
They will have the ability to negotiate with suppliers and merchandise companies.
With strong communication skills, both written and verbal the ideal candidate will have strong numerical skills and financial acumen with previous experience of managing budgets.
A team player with good supervision skills, they will be IT literate and proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Due to the responsibilities within this role, the successful applicant needs to have the flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays, often working in excess of their contracted hours.
